HEARTDUST

obscured by heart dust
mix & match memories
recreate the past
allow the rebuilding
new roof to prevent leaks
new ideas to prevent boredom
capture the waves
rushing into chaos
seashells hide life
floating carelessly along
motivation only to survive
and those eyes
shimmer with certainty
creation a hurricane can’t shake
yet it does
and it goes on
tangled in seaweed
rotting in perspiration
dangling from a necklace
a symbol of what was
what it can never become
then fall, shatter
into heartdust
to obscure once again
